Notice Given the current state of the coronavirus, the board met on July 28 and voted to join other local choirs in going on hiatus for the time being. We continue to monitor the situation and will reassess potential meetings, next concert date, etc. during our next board meeting on September 28. We hope you and yours remain safe and healthy, and we look forward to once again Making Music Matter as soon as practical.
Letter from the President, Chris Lincoln
First and foremost I wanted to let everyone know that at our board meeting Tuesday night we unanimously voted to go on hiatus for the time being, as otherchoirs in KC have done recently. This means we will not be meeting in early September as we would in a normal year. As much as we all deeply want to see each other again and experience the joy of making music together, the health of our members, families, and community must come first.
Looking ahead, I wish I could say when exactly we will meet again, but the truth is we just don't know. What I do know is that the answer is not "never"; we are keeping an eye on the situation as it evolves, listening to the thoughts and advice of the health community, other choirs, and choral organizations such as ACDA. NCC has meant a great deal to me the past 6 years that I've been with the choir, and I know it will for years to come. I look forward to seeing and singing with all of you as soon as it is practical.
Please let me know if you have any questions. If there are several and/or they are of general interest to the choir, I will probably collate and send out a follow-up email/post in a couple days with collected and anonymized questions and answers.
