History
The Northland Community Choir (NCC) was organized in 1974 as a group of fifty choir members from ten Platte County churches that joined together to participate in the Union Thanksgiving Service at Park Hill Baptist Church. The choir came together again in the spring on 1975 to perform Handel’s Messiah, led by John Baker of Park Hill Baptist. NCC participated in the Thanksgiving services in 1976 and 1977 under the leadership of David Hodges.

Initially, the choir’s spring concerts involved the performance of a major choral work, such as Handel’s Messiah in 1975 and 1977. NCC’s 1976 concert featured The Conversion of Saint Paul from Mendelssohn’s oratoria Paulus, directed by Dr. Don Brown of William Jewell College. In 1978 the choir joined Dennis Herron and the Northland Symphony to perform Bach’s Magnificat.
